Last Thursday, I had a conversation with my dear friend, and collaborator Joana Avillez at Space Ninety 8, in Brooklyn. We talked about the making of a book, and interviewed each other about our respective paths as artists and the challenges and pleasures of collaboration. Small bites and cocktails from the book were served, like the Beet Punch, and the Cucumber Umeboshi Salad with cashew crunch and nori.
After the talk, people shopped ceramics from Mondays, Felt + Fat, Nicholas Newcomb, and Arc Objects, just a few of the talented local ceramicists featured in my book.
Thank you Gotham Greens and Bambu for their donations towards this event. All photos by Heidi Lee, and to Space Ninety 8 for hosting.
